Refreshing New Look!
The Annual Cherry Creek North Sidewalk Sale was a huge success and shoppers were more than willing to "Pardon the Dust During Construction". The sidewalks and landscaped areas are under construction as the area is getting a refreshed look, or facelift. Many of the retail stores and restaurants are also re-locating and remodelling the spaces they are moving to. MAX bought the old Smith & Hawken space, right by SOL, Store of Lingerie. Both stores are hugely successful and bring many shoppers from a six state area into Cherry Creek North. The favorite restaurant for generational Denverites is Pasta - Pasta - Pasta and they are moving to NorthCreek at the end of this month. If Pasta had a wall of caricatures, it would rivel the steakhouse downtown for the "who's who" in Denver. Pasta Pasta Pasta will have a separate entrance off the interior courtyard for the residents at NorthCreek, another perk to living here. Get Back the Buzz

Boccalino, the "Boccalino Buzz". For anyone younger than the Baby Boomer age, Boccalino was the "in-spot" for the "in-crowd" in the 70's and 80's and sat above the Vietnamese-French haute cuisine restaurant Chez Thoa located on Fillmore Street between Second and First Avenue. Boccalino and Chez Thoa were filled to capacity any night of the week, and early on Friday afternoons until way past 2 am. Boccalino was where it was at, until it closed after the street became a plaza. The Boccalino reunion party, held a few years back, had over 500 in attendance and the buzz began, get Boccalino back... to where it once belonged.

The Aspen Magazine launch party for the Aspen Food and Wine Festival was held last evening at the Viceroy Hotel in Snowmass, NorthCreek was the star. The buzz around town is that Denver home prices are up 4.1%. John Rebchook reported that a total of 58 homes sold for more than $1 million in April, up more than 70 percent from March and 18 percent from April 2009 when the nation's economy was just beginning to pull out of its long downturn. Roadless Ride
The tenth annual Roadless Ride to benefit Brent's Place took place today at Pura Vida Fitness and Health Club in Cherry Creek North. The Roadless Ride is an all day Spinathon, riding stationary bicycles mixed in with rowing on ergometers. Pura Vida also offered several Yoga and Will Power and Grace classes throughout the day, all sponsored by the various instructors and donations by participants towards Brent's Place. Brent's Place is located near Children's Hospital and is a home away from home for children that are undergoing treatments for cancer. Children's Hospital in Denver treats children from all over Colorado and neighboring states, Brent's Place is available to those families that have children that are involved in oncology treatments that last for weeks at a time. Brent's Place provides a home atmosphere, with love and caring and "old-fashion" fun. Today's fundraiser was sponsored by several Cherry Creek North retailers and restaurants that provided coupons and food and beverage. Hermes Paris
Hermes, c'est arrive! The Denver Art Museum's Ponti Hall is home to the most exquisite dislplay of Hermes combined with a demonstration on the art of printing a silk scarf. This is not just any silk scarf, Hermes has been making silk scarves since 1937 and arrived in Denver with its craftsmen from the ateliers in Lyon, France. The Denver Art Museum's Design Council hosted a luncheon to kick off the Hermes presentation and five day installation. Congratulations Denver
The Denver Board of Realtors hosted the annual Realtor Roundtable Awards Luncheon to honor and celebrate the success of many hard working residential real estate brokers in Denver. A Butterfly Mask

I read recently that Google is not a synonym for research. When you google Denver real estate, are you receiving all the information that you need pertaining to the questions you may have? Breathtaking!

The Who's Who in the Colorado business community gathered Thursday evening to honor and induct the newest members of the Colorado Business Hall of Fame. All the inductees have left marks in the community through philanthropy as well as business. DESIGN AFTER DARK
The Design Council of the Denver Art Museum held its sixth annual DESIGN AFTER DARK fundraiser. The exciting event celebrates design in Colorado, while raising funds for the Department of Architecture, Design and Graphics at the Denver Art Museum. Humphries Poli Architects, the architectural firm behind the sensational design at NorthCreek, had a visible presence at Design After Dark. Soles4Souls

Solstice
The Solar New Year is here, the winter solstice or in the Germanic tradition the season of Yule marking the shortest day and the longest night. This event is a result of the axial tilt of the earth, it is farthest away from the sun at this time of year. This mid-winter season is marked by shorter daylight hours, yet throughout the world gatherings and rituals, celebrations and holidays revolve around light. Celebrations and worship services of light, gatherings that include candles and the burning of wood all to bring bright illumination into our mid-winter world. This illumination is symbolic of the sun's ebbing presence, the gatherings are marked by imagination and creativity and time for reflection. On perhaps the coldest morning of the year, approximately 50 Kentwood Cherry Creek brokers braved the below zero temperatures to find out about the buzz around town. City sidewalks, busy sidewalks, it's holiday time in the city, but not a sound can be heard inside a NorthCreek residence due to the excellent engineering and construction for sound mitigation. Soundproofing of each unit was achieved through the concrete flooring that is layered with Accoustimat. Accoustimat is a nylon core of fused, entangled filaments attached to a non-woven fabric and contains 40% pre-consumer recycled content. The beautiful hardwood, carpet and tile flooring sit atop the accoustimat layer. The commercial grade windows of the NorthCreek residences muffle noises by an airspace layer in the multi-paned windows. Each has a 1/2 inch airspace sandwiched between two 1/4 inch thick panes of glass to achieve a 1 inch total thickness. All the ticket holders, festive and warm in their furs, hats, gloves and boots mingled and sipped bubbly before heading into the 16 block area of the Cherry Creek North business community to shop, dine, browse and mingle for the holidays and for the arts. The 1st annual benefit for ArtReach began at NorthCreek and concluded at Second Home at the JW Marriott hotel with a lively crowd enjoying a hot toddy and some holiday treats. Pedi-cabs offered rides for the troubadors as they set out, maps in hand, for an evening of fun and frolic in the frigid temperatures. One of the more interesting visitors, popping out of a pedi-cab was a neighbor from the north, costumed as a toymaker with a dimpled smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was very jolly and more than generous with his candy canes. He scheduled a tour of the Brownstone model, as it seems to receive attention in several letters he has received lately.
